Recycling Program - What is Canceled and What is Not

Middlesex County has temporarily suspended its special programs, including Household Hazardous Waste, Paper Shredding, Tires, Paint, Cooking Oil and Styrofoam.

South Plainfield residents should hold their used paint and cooking oil until further notice. Styrofoam can be discarded in the trash. Note that the paint collection that was scheduled at our recycling center for Saturday, March 21 is canceled.

The Recycling Center is still accepting cardboard, mixed paper, bottles & cans, used motor oil, scrap metal, computers, television and used clothes.

South Plainfield's regular collection programs will continue as scheduled. Recyclables will be collected from the curb on March 26th and 27th and the drop-off center is on its regular summer schedule - check the Recycling Program page for details.
