South Plainfield Economic Development
Welcome to the Borough of South Plainfield.
The Borough was established as its own community on March 12, 1926. The 8.4 square mile borough is comprised of residential, industrial and commerical areas and is the home to approximately 23,000 residents.
The Borough is conveniently located between New York City and Philadelphia and provides easy access to major thoroughfares such as Route 287, 22 and the Garden State Parkway. South Plainfield is served by several New Jersey Transit train lines including the North East Corridor and the Raritan Valley lines
The South Plainfield Economic Development Committee's mission is to promote the Borough as a preeminent location for prospective businesses, act as a liaison with prospective business owners and to facilitate the needs of current South Plainfield businesses.
